Have you ever paid close attention to Richard O’Brien and Patricia Quinn’s costumes during ‘Dammit Janet’? Their costumes are supposed to be exact to the clothing the couple from Grant Wood’s painting “American Gothic” wear. The painting is shown when Riff Raff and Magenta first appear in their butler and maid outfits inferring there is some connection present. This is when I begin to think that the movie is some kind of drug trip for Brad and Janet or they’ve crashed. I’ve never quite been able to accept which one is true; Brad and Janet or just really lucky, they did hardcore drugs, or they crashed.
